Reference: drawing related to Tonneau-Ryckelynck & Plumart 199.
Unique preparatory drawing for a print by the same titled, part of the series "Croquis d'Animaux".
Signed and annotated "toute le contour tre faible" (sic), "plus petit" in pencil.
The bad spelling is in keeping with Hecht's poor level of written French, which is documented in his published treatise on engraving. It should read "tout le contour très faible" (ENG: the whole contour very thin).
