Lithograph on chine collé on wove paper.
Reference: Mellerio 158 Edition 100.
Published by Ambroise Vollard, Paris, in his famous "l'Album des Peintres-Graveurs."
Given dozens of impressions of this famous lithograph have been acquired
by museums the world over, this print has become very scarce.
Mellerio indicates that there are only a handful of impressions before letters. We think he is mistaken. We have yet to identify an impression with letters. Mellerio must have made an assumption that, this print, like most lithographs by Redon had a typographic title. It seems not to be the case.
Initialed in pencil, as usual.
