Mezzotint on thick wove paper.
Printed by Otto Felsing, Berlin. We have found a few impressions, all unsigned. No known edition.
A very tactile print. The variety of scraping and burnishing in the cloth is quite unusual compared to typical mezzotint technique. The hair on the other hand seems almost real. And the vigorous lines in the dark background on the right are quite dynamic. The contrast of the light in her face makes it seem to float above the surface of the paper. This portrait has a presence, to say the least.
