The Teal Scarf

Pastel on laid paper.
A fabulous rendition of a working man retracting his neck as deeply as he possibly can into his bright scarf. His hands are also hiding from the cold, buried deep in his pant pockets. The cold is suggested by the fleshy colors of his cheeks, which contrast with the scarf, which is an unusual bit of flair for such a character. The stance of the man’s gait evokes Umberto Boccioni’s Unique Forms of Continuity in Space (Google it!).
Monogrammed and dated in green pastel in the top right image corner.
The sheet toned on the verso, and with tape residue along the sheet verso perimeter. The recto in fine conditions, the colors fresh.
