Carmen
Drypoint printed on Arches laid paper. Reference: Tabanelli 126. One of only a handful impressions of this print, for which there was no edition. Signed and dedicated "ˆ Leroy", in pencil. A very fine impression in pristine condition. This particular impression dedicated to the printer Leroy, made famous for helping Mary Cassatt print her innovative color compositions starting circa 1890. Little is known about this printer, who did print the edition of the portrait of Alfred Stevens (Tabanelli 54), published in the Gazette des Beaux-Arts.
