Provenance: Bernard Brussel-Smith. Thence by descent to his son Peter.
Bernard Brussel-Smith, another famous American wood engraver of the 20th century must have known Lynd Ward. It is unclear whether this was a gift from one colleague to another or a purchase.
Grimy glue residue from prior hinges in the top corners, away from the image, and unobtrusive once matted.
