Abstraction in Brown
Color aquatint and soft ground etching on Arches wove paper, 1963.
This is likely printed using the Atelier 17 method of simultaneous color printing (a.k.a. color viscosity printing). At the times Yoshida was working in Paris at the famed Atelier.
In light of the fact that Yoshida named most of his other compositions in French, it is likely that a title exists. Sadly we have not found it to date.
Edition of 30. Scarce, as are all works by Yoshida are. Yoshida does not seem to have been very active as a printmaker once he had left France in 1963.
Signed, dated “63” and numbered “9/30” in pencil.
