L’Ondine (original French title)
Woodcut printed in two tones on laid Japan paper.
Edition of 30 or 50. The numbering on two known impressions is hard to read and suggests both. Either way scarce, and apparently printed in color variants. This one in dark blue and brown, printed in an edition of 30 apparently.
This is a variation on a theme used by Chapront for an illustration of Baudelaire's Paradis Artificiel published in 1921 and containing about 10 color woodcuts. L’Ondine in this publication is in 4 colors and was also reproduced by the famous publication Biblis in 1923.
Signed and numbered in pencil.
