Etching, aquatint, roulette, and drypoint on wove paper, circa 1879-1885.

The final state before the plate was cancelled in the 4th. According to Goodfriend approximately 50 impressions were pulled of this state.
Signed with the large red owl stamp (Lugt 977) in the plate.
Annotated "Essayer un bistre liquide - et tir. Chaud" in pencil in the lower right sheet edge, possibly in the artist's hand. Overall in very good condition. A couple of repaired tears and small areas of fiber loss, in the left margin.
