Chat sur le Plancher
Soft-ground etching, aquatint and drypoint printed in colors on thin wove paper, 1902. Reference: Crauzat 88. One of only two impressions in the third state of four, according to Crauzat. Again, according to Crauzat, only 13 impressions were pulled in all four states combined. Only 5 impressions were in color, the remainder was printed monochromatically. Crauzat mentions numbering on all impression; however, no impression with numbering was ever encountered. At least three impressions, in three different states, are dedicated to Eug?ne Del‰tre, who was Steilen's intaglio printer. This includes our impression, as well as an impression of the fourth state, in the collection of the FAMSF. A very fine impression of this extremely beautiful, and rare print. Signed and dedicated "ˆ Eug. Del‰tre" in pencil.
