Willem van den Berg

A Dutch realist printmaker and educator, Willem van den Berg (1886–1970)
trained under his father and at the Hague Academy, later serving as director of the Rijksakademie. He is known for his prints of fishermen, peasants, and animals that blend graphic precision with an emotional vibrance. Van den Berg’s contribution to art rests in his sustained realist vision: he captured labor, tradition, and rural identity with skill and gravitas.
