Susan JAMESON

British-born Susan E. Jameson (born 1944 in Penrith, Cumberland, UK) studied art in London and Florence, exploring several mediums before focusing exclusively on printmaking.
In the 1970s, her strong skills found her work as a master printmaker early in her career. She is known for her brilliant use of the technically difficult mezzotint technique. Her prints have been exhibited throughout Europe and the USA. Print Biennales in Krakow, Ljubljana, and Biella have featured her work. This consistent success has sustained her career as an artist, allowing her to focus exclusively on creating prints.

She is known for using saturated color to create expressionistic landscapes with a painterly, atmospheric quality. It is her mastery of the mezzotint that makes these spectacular effects possible. Her prowess with this challenging and delicate printmaking medium has distinguished her among her contemporaries.  Her notable exhibitions include a solo show at the Graffiti Gallery in London and a group exhibition at the Davidson Gallery in Seattle. Her work is in public and private collections throughout the world.
