Description

Gasthaus Unewatt II (original German title)

Color aquatint and etching on wove paper.
Edition of 75.

Immediately to the north of Hamburg, Germany, located close to the shores of Flensburg Fjord (or Flensborg), Unewatt is small historic and picturesque town founded by Danes but located in contemporary Germany, and dating back to the early 1400s. The artist must have considered it a daytrip refuge or may even have spent more extended periods of time there, give how many of his prints seem to have been drawn in that region. The Inn still exists even though it has changed names to “Unewatt by Henrik”.

Signed, dated, titled, and numbered in ink.
