Reynold WEIDENAAR

As an artist Reynold Weidenaar (1915-1985) was mostly a printmaker; though he did also draw extensively.  His subject matters are diverse, while depictions of modern and city life dominate his oeuvre.  With a verve all his own, whimsy can be found in most of his compositions, whether the subject is serious or not.  Weidenaar mostly etched and created mezzotints.  In both techniques he showed a propensity towards detail, and he liked to fill his plates with amusement; to our delight.
