Etching on wove paper.
Reference: Retif & Salzer 19.
Stated edition 100, but likely not completed. Extremely scarce. We have not found another impression anywhere.
Signed and annotated “True as Steel – The Butler Mfg. Company Spirit” in pencil by the artist.
It was a commission by Butler Manufacturing in Kansas City. It is an ode to American manufacturing and the personification of labor, in the figure of a man in overalls, is surrounded by products made by Butler at that time, buses, grain silos, truck cargo shells, throughs, etc.
