View full detailsBorn Rezsö Fábri in Budapest in 1894, Hungarian-born American printmaker, painter, and educator, Ralph Fabri (1894–1975) distinguished himself through etchings rich in allegorical resonance, addressing themes of literature, music, religion, and the trauma of war. He was widely recognized for his talent by critics and collectors alike. A teacher at Parsons and CCNY, he also authored more than ten practical art manuals—including Learn to Draw (1945) and Artist’s Guide to Composition (1971)—that influenced several generations of artists.
