Young Girl with Hydrangeas, hand colored

Date
1995
Description

Lithograph printed in two colors, profusely hand colored with wax pencils on wove paper.

Artist’s proof. It seems unlikely that an edition was ever printed of this work. Unique as such.

The artist drafted his subject in clear lines, the girl in simple outline, the foliage somewhat shaded. He then added a yellow tint stone (see another impression on this website). Mosca went to town on this impression, seemingly using every color at his disposal. Somehow it works. This languorous teenager, with bright blond hair seems to bathe in soft sunlight, while the foliage, branches, and hydrangea blooms pop in a firework of colors.

Signed, titled, dated, and annotated in pencil.
