Lithograph printed in brown-gray ink on tissue-thin paper, mounted on a thick support sheet, likely to protect the fragile sheet, and quite possibly by the artist himself.
Reference: Bourcard & Goodfriend 181 i/ii.
Very rare in this state. Impressions of the second state are always printed in dull green.
Signed and annotated “1er Etat” in pencil, at the top of the bottom border, and annotated similarly once more in the bottom left sheet corner.
With the J and G (Jim Goodfriend) initials, forming a butterfly stamped on the verso of the support sheet.
