View full detailsBorn and raised in Hollywood, California, Mickey Myers studied art with Corita Kent, a famous silkscreen artist who was Catholic sister, known under the name of Sister Mary Corita Kent. Myers started her professional career managing an art gallery as well as a graphic design business. All the while she was creating silkscreens, both fine art prints and posters. Since 1991 Myers has lived in Vermont. Many of those years she lived in an old farmhouse in Hyde Park, a remote area in the northern part of the state, near the Canadian border. For decades the landscapes that surrounded her were the inspiration to her numerous color monotypes. These are created in series, with titles such as The View From My Window (1996), Nuages (Clouds) (1996), and Looking West (2002). In 2010 she completed the Lamoille series of 140 square monotypes, 120 of which were distributed to Madison Print Club members. Myers moved to Johnson, Vermont in 2003 where she still creates today.
