View full detailsA Hungarian-born French printmaker, illustrator, and costume designer, Marcel Vertès (1895-1961) captured the flair of Jazz Age Paris through lithographs of dancers, fashionable figures, and demi-monde scenes. Academy Award–winning in film, he also contributed murals to iconic venues and left a legacy of theatrical imagery in print. Although Vertès spent formative years in Paris and later alternated between Paris and New York—including during WWII—his printmaking reflects the distinct spirit of 1920s–40s elegance. His delicate yet vibrant lithographs remain beloved by collectors for their style, theatricality, and visual narrative.
