Mother and Child Feeding the Swans
Black crayon, colored pencil, pastel, with white gouache highlights on wove paper.
Possibly related to an unidentified print. A very fine drawing by the artist.
Signed in pencil. Dated "16 mai 07" in ink in the lower right sheet edge.
Provenance: Auguste Tricaud, Paris, with his monogram stamp (Lugt 182). Tricaud was a prominent collector of the work of Félicien Rops and Louis Legrand. An unusually fine provenance for such an fine drawing.
Old hinges and glue dots on the verso, in the lower left sheet corner leading to a small area of paper loss. These conditions not affecting the quality of the image. The sheet and the colors remain very fresh.
