Lewis C. DANIEL

Lewis C. Daniel (1901-1952) was born and raised in New York City and received his art education at Cooper Union.  He was probably a painter, though little seems to be available on the open market.  As a printmaker, he showed a preference for etching and for drypoint, though he didn’t shy away from lithography.  Drawn to strong subjects of American pride, his style tends towards regionalist esthetics in which human figures are made to look sculptural.
