Lawrence Murray HEYMAN

American painter and printmaker Lawrence Murray Heyman was born in 1931 in Washington DC. After serving in the U.S. Army for two years, he enrolled at the Tyler School of Fine Arts and earned his BFA.
He lived in Paris from 1960 to 1965, studying experimental printmaking techniques with Krishna Reddy at Stanley William Hayter's Atelier 17. 
After earning an MFA from the American University in Washington, D.C, in 1971, he lived and worked in New York City, exhibiting both paintings and prints. He taught printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design in the 1980s and moved to Providence, Rhode Island. His artwork is included in several collections, such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Museum of the City of New York.
