George AURIOL

George Auriol (French, 1863-1938) is one of France’s most versatile artists of the Belle Époque, and a man of many talents.  He was famous as an illustrator, a typographer, a writer, a printmaker, as well as for a number of further artistic expressions.  To this day many of his motives and typographies remain in use.  He also designed the personalized monograms used by dozens, if not hundreds of artists of the time.  Auriol advertised for his services by designing and sending out annual Christmas and New Year’s wishes.
