Ganz PROPPER

Ganz Propper (American, 20th century) was active in the Midwest from the 1950s through the early 1970s, producing small-edition woodcuts, drawings, and paintings. His signed and numbered prints, often limited to 25 impressions, combine modernist clarity with themes ranging from indigenous figures to lyrical abstractions. While his career has not been well documented, his name appears in the artist files of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s Sales & Rental Gallery (1958–64). Propper’s works remain scarce and appealing, offering collectors the blend of rarity and personal expression characteristic of America’s regional modernist circles.
