Wheat Heads - Plate 5 from Paysages
Lithograph printed in bistre and a rose tint on white paper mounted on thick simili-japon paper.
Plate 5, with the Wheat Heads remarque (FR: épis de blé), from the Suite de Paysages, a set of 8 prints, self-published by the artist.
Edition of 105, in 5 color variants.
Many of the suites have been damaged by exposure to humidity and are either lost of heavily foxed. Most of the suites have also been broken up and individual sheets sold loose. Complete suites in fine, unrestored condition, are extremely rare. Printed by Lemercier, then active at 57 rue de Seine, Paris.
Created between June 1892 and April 1893.
Numbered “93” and signed in pencil.
Overall excellent condition; the full sheet. Few faint scattered fox marks in the sky. A flattened fold in the bottom left sheet corner.
