View full detailsBorn in Santiago de Cuba, Daniel Serra–Badué (1914–1996) trained in Cuba, Barcelona, and New York before emerging as a leading surrealist printmaker in exile. Recognized with two consecutive Guggenheim Fellowships and later a Cintas Fellowship, Serra–Badué worked exclusively in lithography, crafting dreamlike images that traverse memory, architecture, and the uncanny. He anchored the Cuban diaspora art scene in the United States, while serving as chairman and Assistant Director of the Art History department at St. Peter's College in Jersey City, New Jersey.
