Carlos Anderson or Andreson

American painter, illustrator, and graphic designer, Carlos J. Anderson (1904–1978), is also known as Carlos Andreson. In the 1930s, Anderson emerged as a regionalist painter based in New York, capturing American life through his depictions of Utah pioneer buildings commissioned by the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) and the Utah State Historical Society. His legacy endures through works preserved in key collections—the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Springville Museum of Art, and Utah’s state fine arts holdings.
