Carl Theodor Thiemann

A Bohemian-born color woodcut artist associated with the Vienna Secession,  Carl Theodor Thiemann (1881-1966) is renowned for his stylized depictions of landscapes, village streets, and forests. Trained in Prague and later active in the Dachau art colony, his prints combine Japanese technique with graphic precision and calm atmosphere—a hallmark of early 20th-century Central European printmaking.
