At the Café Concert

Date
1895
Description
Pastel on paper, mounted on canvas, mounted on thick board.

A dynamic composition of this performance hall mainstay of Parisian culture at the end of the 19th century. In the foreground a crowd of dressed up women and one man. On stage, in the background, two performers. It is possible that the male performer is Kam-Hill (Camille Périer), though he seems to be missing his trademark mustache in this image.
