Bernard BOUTET de MONVEL

As the extensive selection of color etchings by Bernard Boutet de Monvel (French, 1881-1949) featured on the page suggests, our clients have a high opinion of this oeuvre; and so do we.  While clearly influenced by his father’s style early in his career, young Bernard nevertheless carved a path all his own.  His designs are very often surprising, stylized in nature; his technical skills as a printmaker and his balance of colors are also flawless.  His work is one to discover, for those of you who haven’t yet.
