Pêcheuse à l'Enfant Tirant un Requin (original french title)
Deeply bitten etching, with roulette and gypsograph, printed in black ink on beige wove paper, circa 1898. Reference: this is the same pair as the one depicted in BN-IFF 21. One of a handful of impressions, scarce as are all prints by the artist. Monogrammed in the plate, top right corner. Printed to the sheets' edges.
NOTE: this composition is clearly a visual reinterpretation of the motif of Saint Christopher in a modern setting, which the artist used as a model for at least three other compositions.
