Julius BALTAZAR

Julius Baltazar (pseudonym of Hervé Lambion) was born in Paris on July 13th 1949, where he still lives and works.  Known for his abstract works on paper, both as a printmaker and painter, his inspiration is steeped in Asian arts.  While much of his work seems to reference Asian writing, his work in color evokes landscapes.  In all of his work, moods dominate the composition.  Already as a teenager he shows a predilection for works on paper, by painting watercolors and gouaches which already show his preference for the paper. A true creature of the Rive Gauche (Left Bank) of Paris, visiting galleries around Saint-Germain-des-Prés has always been another inspiring force to Baltazar.
